I'm pretty sure my find today is just a disc-shaped concretion. It is about 2 inches across and was found on a rock bar in our northwest GA creek. I'm learning a lot by collecting the wrong finds lol!

No not really. And not all of you. just a few of you. It depends on how big you hands are. I am and you could be one too. Did you comprehend that. You were taught about arrowheads and you could be taught this too. It takes listen to learning. I'm still learning and will until I die. I didn't know marbles had all those names.. see its easy

Nice looking out bear for the out of ordinary type of rocks. I do that and also the out of ordinary colors to. You just about have to be a Geologist to understand the reason the Native Americans would use a type of rock and the reason. If they had good rock they wouldnt use a weaker rock they would go get the good stuff. If there are no good material in the area then they would use the rocks at hand. Big learning curve. I always look at the rocks in the area on hardness scales as to what they would and wouldnt of used.

It does look like a doorknob from an old house lol! I also thought wheel from a flintstone car lol! Nature is pretty amazing

A person learns best by attending the School Of Hard Knocks...

You found a hard knock...

Move to the head of the class...

Thank you Grim - I appreciate that.

My apologies as well....even though it really does kinda look like a prettified boob. Sometime I'll have to post the petrified turd I found...well...actually it's horn coral but you know what it looks like.

I did want to say dont ignore that color completely cause Hematite is that color and they did use it to make things with. Hematite is heavy just like iron ore by the way. Hematite is easier to carve and grind, iron ore is very dense and hard.
