'DING, DING' TRAM BUTTON,A PAPER,MATCH BOX HOLDER ARE RELATED.

Hi all,It rained all day and i,m not unhappy as we need the rain.So today i found out that i had three relics from three different locations are connected.some time a go a got some old news papers from a country town called Inglewood, at disused shop. The newspaper was called The Inglewood Times and stopped printing in 1927.I was read threw a 1917 edition and read this old add about a Whitelock @ Carter Tailors.I remembered this match box holder that had the same name on it.The match box holder was found under a tree up the road from my house.Sure it did indeed match, to the add. This just gets better in June last year i found a 1921 Tram Driver"s button and i asked a local historian about it.I got a 2 hour rundown about the Bendigo Tramways and its whole history and when told me who made the uniforms for the tramsways. The button is a Stokes and Sons button. The uniform maker was Whitelock & Carter. All seem a bit hard to believe but these pics and the link should totaly amaze you. This just the start because the Long Gully area where the button has a well recorded history and Max Ellis told be there was only one tram driver living in the area .His Name was G.W Giles. Here,s a link about the the Bendigo Tramways which matches to the button, followed by the pics.I will add more pic and next part of the story which is totally mind blowing. In 1925 Giles purchased a block of land on Eaglehawk road and what happened on this block in 1923 .Tell more tomorrow.
