All of my half dollar veins are tapped out! I still pick up whatever loose and CWRs that I can find. I am finding 3-4 40%ers a month.

My new goal is 2-3 dime boxes a day, 6 days a week. Hopefully I will find 15-20 silver dimes a week.

So far:

am curious about your dime box totals and amount of silver you found? do you ask for the dime boxes to be ordered?

Skunk is no silver, shunk is a sign of my poor spelling.

I do order dime boxes from 2 banks, but mostly I get 1-2 boxes at a times. I have a list of banks and their phone numbers. I call them to check if they have any dime boxes to sell. During a normal day, I pass 10-20 banks to and from work. These are banks that I have accounts with, sometimes just $100-$200 in a savings account. I dump nearly ever day using a lobby coin counter. I dump Canadian dimes in Canada every 1-2 months it also gives me a chance to work on my Canadian coin collection. I get 5-15 Canadian dimes per box (my record is 53). I live 20 minutes from the border.

I am curious...since you live so close to the border...if you try to spend Canadian dimes at retail, or deposit them, are they accepted as US currency, or do they tell you that they can't accept them?

I live in Indiana, and many years ago, Canadian change was accepted as payment as if it were US, but this is no longer true for my area.

I have only tried it a few times, but Canadian change is accepted by most merchants. However I find a lot of Canadian dimes and I spend very little cash.

My job is to earn money, my wife handles most of the rest.

I could dump Canadian dimes and other foreign coins I don't want (British 5 Pence) by hands rolling with mostly US dimes and dumping at banks that accepts rolls. They do weigh them but the right mix of coins is all you need to fool them. Or maybe I will go and visit London, UK and spend them!
