what you digging in? concrete? J/K yeah I broke a few myself.

Yeah.. sometimes even harder than concrete!

I'm also a Rockhound.. gold prospector.. ginseng hunter.. and if I'm lucky, I may get to take a trip to the beach for the "soft stuff!
I use most of the tools doing most of the above.. except our sand scoops.
I've made all the tools I use to dig with.. and they don't break.. so far!:laughing7:

Geez Chug, you punished that baby!!

I have never dug in anything other than a beach yet and on the beach, my shovel digs a big hole. I'm just a little wary of damaging a field if I don't point accurately. That Samson T handle looks great, I'll take it in a fight with me!

Looks like I'll hit the local hardware stores and have a look at what they have, I was tempted to order a Garret digger but looks like the write ups aren't exactly glowing.

I use a "Wilcox All Pro #102" digger as my main digging tool, and I've used it for over 20 years. Never had any problems with it, just sharpen it once in awhile and I'm good to go.

Roots and woods - Lesche.

Parks and yards - Oklahoma Electronics. This one cuts a plug 6" deep with three pushes and leaves a lid to cover your tracks.

I tried a 6" hand garden tool that I sharpened and cut sharp edges into one side yestersday, was razor sharp but useless in hard or dry ground, I just couldn't push it in enough. That T Handle lesche looks the goods and maybe the Oklahoma Electronics one above could give better leverage
