Digging Tools

Lesche makes great diggers.

I've tried lot's of diggers and finally ended up with a Lesche.

I won't use anything else.

I used to use fiskars it was very good I did eventually bend it got another and lost it now I use Lesche and im very happy with it's very tough but cost more

Although some might disagree as it "looks" bad walking around in a park, a Sampson t-handle metal detecting spade cuts the deepest, cleanest, perfect plugs I have ever dug! Three cuts, flip, probe, remove target, flip plug back, never happened. I love my lesche, but only use it now for intricate tasks as 90% of my targets are right at the bottom of the plug when I flip it over. It really does help me keep it clean when out in a public park.

I just use a small garden shovel just a few feet long, kinda like a relic shovel but cheap. Owned the same one for years only cost $9.95 :occasion14:

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:

Curved blade linoleum knife and a garden trowel. Both less than $5 at Ace Hardware.

Thought about making a digging tool similar to the Lesche and also a sheath made from UHMW.
I've made all the tools I used in beach detecting, prospecting, and ginseng hunting. A tool like the Lesche would be good for ginseng hunting, digging in tight places.
I have enough tube for the handle, just need some sheet for the blade.

heavy duty garden trowels from ACE Hardware, less than 20 dollars each

Gator Digger from Kellyco.... but the grip has separated from the handle. Told my wife I'll be getting a lesche......

Looking forward to many years w/ a duct tape/glued Gator Digger:BangHead:

I have a screw driver and a 1 1/4" wide digging tool. I think it's a Wilcox, orange handle?

I have a fiskars and i use treasurewise tools they cost less and are excellent. This year i plan to buy a lesche and see if they are good as people say they are.But you can find good tools for digging at ace/lowes and home depot.HH

I have a Lesche digger but almost never use it. Instead, I opt for the Samson T-Handle

Easier on the back & cuts cleaner!

Fiskars for sure, they also make awesome hatchets for bushcraft .

I started with a Craftsman garden trowel (came with the detector) but it broke. Then I got a Black and Decker and it worked well. I recently got a Fiskars for free and so far I like it best. Big handle is easy on the hand and it seems strong.

Thats what i needed to know Mr Mike, here in Australia, digging in a park or playground could get me in strife so I have avoided it until now, but I don't want to leave any mess or evidence

I've never had very good luck with "store bought".. they break, bend, or the handle breaks.

what you digging in? concrete? J/K yeah I broke a few myself.
