During my last two hunts at "Barber Hill" with Kimsdad, shotgun shell brass,
.22 casings, pocket knives, and cheap tableware were plentiful. During our first
hunt, I felt fortunate to recover two Wheats and a "Evanston Railway Co" token and
after some research, was able to date it somewhere between 1913 to 1937.
Probably my most unusual find was a 6-holed, oval-shaped brass plate with
a patent marking of June 2, 1914. . . which turned out to be the sole plate for a
"Triple Splice" Spalding spoon golf club
During our hunt today, Kimsdad & I were joined by Looking4Seated. He must have
brought some luck with him because just after he arrived, I found a 1900 V-Nickel
and soon after, another Boy Scout pocket knife and an early Wheat.
All in all, it was fun to get out and enjoy
