I see alot of red dirt there, whenever I break into a pocket, smokey or amethyst, I almost always hit red clay! Looks like some potential there......:icon_thumleft:

OK so I went back to my original spot in perris the other day. The homeless guy is gone , Anyway someone had moved to big Quartz boulders that i was digging around I dont think they knew what they were doing. But I did find what looks like a poor quality aquamarine it is blue so that means that spot has potential. See pics.rocks 002.PNGrocks 003.PNGrocks 004.PNGrocks 007.PNGrocks 008.PNGrocks 009.PNGrocks 010.PNGrocks n such 041.JPGrocks n such 049.JPGrocks n such 049.JPG 8-)

I looked up some old USGS mineral reports some from like 1969 one interesting mineral they mention finding there is Opal! I remember finding some pieces that had some different shinny colors in it a long time ago that got lost I bet it could have been opal. Well now I know. I read some of the unusual minerals out there are radioactive. pretty cool though.

Nice aqua! Opal has a glassy surface and is scratched by quartz. That's what I'd keep in mind.
Not all opal has play of colour. :)

OK I busted open a piece of peg there was A little Beryl crystal only this one was gemmy and clear it broke but I got some pics so u can see its better quality.cool 004.JPGcool 003.JPG 8-) What I need is to get a hose out there hit the peg with some water then I could really see whats there.

Beryl can grow big. I have a report from Rio Arriba county in New Mexico of one found in the 1940's that was
almost 7 feet long and it's probably not close to a record.

Well since theres zero water out there I was thinking of maybe trying something like this, Just for small areas, Replace the spray nozzle with high pressure nozzle 696b.jpgimages (2).jpgimages.jpg :tongue3:

A lot of the rock there is covered in that rust colored clay dirt, I cant tell what is what. And to blast dirt out from in betweeen rock. Try and make it easier Ha. An alternative to broom or brushes. 8-)
