Relic Hunting
We just got back from yet another exciting hunt in beautiful Culpeper Virginia. The weather couldn't have cooperated any better. It was Sunny, and in the 60's for most of the venue. We started out the traditional pre meeting Thursday evening, then headed to our Hotels afterward to set up our machines and get ready for the next three days of digging. Some amazing finds were dug this weekend including Tony's Virginia tongue buckle on top in the banner, a beautiful pure silver CW ID tag, an amazing full CS Tongue & Wreath buckle plus a few other cool finds. I wont lie to you, it was real tough hunting, but we still had fun. These hunts are becoming a PI machine must have to find the relics. I feel bad for those that have come and found nothing. It's something you should try once anyway in my opinion. I managed to find some cool finds including a really sweet heavy duty sword hangar, a solid Eagle Infantry button, ramrod guide, and a handful of broken buttons and flat buttons. One of the cooler finds for me were the carved "trench art" pieces carved by a Civil war soldier 160 or so years ago.

Thanks for looking

How can I get included in one of these hunts? I always see people talking about these big hunts but have never been able to find any. I'm in Maine so I don't think there are any up here but I am willing to travel! Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!

and sign up for the Dec. Relic Rescue hunt! They are almost full so you should hurry. I need to warn you, that some machines wont work well there. Soil is tricky.

Ramrod guide

thanks, I can see it now, not what I was thinking :laughing9:

Nice little collection Mike. It was nice meeting you. If you find yourself in the Raleigh area and you got some time, give Tony or me a shout and maybe we can get together with Josh and hunt. I've got a spot but we'll have to wait until January (after deer season) to go.

You did very well there Mike! Great saves!
