Went to one of the more popular kid spots in my town early this morning. I figured it had to be loaded with good stuff. Almost bare of clad, but there was lots of foil, so thats what I dug. I was able to pull out my first gold chain and a gold earring though. They both came in at the foil range. The sun was out and I found a little gold, all in all it was a pretty good day.

Hiya Carat,
Today was my first proper outing with my New Ace250.
I must have dug at least a Pound of Foil too.!!!
No Gold for me, but i did find my first ring on my first hunt. See My post.
Well done and congrats too.
I guess you won't be thinking of foil the same way now eh.??
Way to go Carat.!!! Good luck and happy hunting for the future.

It's strange to me.I know if you dig everything you have a better chance on finding the gold. But with the new PI detector i have only dug one piece of foil(i have dug over 1000 holes with it).i hunt only beach's with it.I do however find allot of iron. And have found gold with it.

Foiled again, but there's gold in those kiddie places! congrats on the find, keep on diggin'

Very good post!

The major problem with our super detectors today is we take all that discrimination and target ID stuff too seriously.

If one has a good back and is fit one should dig everything except the small rusty nails.

The great depth of our new machines is a big plus. Just don't use too much discrimination (unless you must).

Lately I'd have to entitle my topics, "Digging Gold and Finding Foil"! :D ;) Monty
