Hello All,

Went out and got into a new field hoping to find some signs, or perhaps stumble on some CW relics or farmer dropped coins. Well, I guess some will say that we make it look easy...but after working so hard for two decades at the greatest hobby in the world, I'm glad to see that luck shines her face on us sometimes! That was certainly the case with our finds today. I was so pleased that we both made some great finds. Take a look at the video and photos below:

1838 Seated Dime, found by DiggerGirl, right on top of the ground!



And the happy finder! For those who didn't see the wedding proposal video, ya missed out. The honeymoon is going to be a bottle dig.

And the 1838 Seated Dime. Oddly, not an Orleans mintmark!





There were some other cool relics on the video that I'm not going to post photos of here. It's a bit too early to start the spanish silver countdown for 2013, as we will try again to break 20 spanish for the year... but ...if we can break 20, that'd mean 40 spanish silvers in two years, which would be pretty incredible.

Outstanding finds including the seated surface find! Congrats to you both! I noticed in your video (at 5:16) when Diggergirl started displaying her seated, there appeared to be a coin on the ground just out of focus...is it a coin? Hope I'm just seeing things and it's not still out there waiting for you! :-)

It is a seashell. They bring in shells to build up the turn rows so that they can be driven on without sinking down in the mud, and then they get plowed into the rows.

You know, it's been quite an adventure down here. I'm not quite certain if there's silver in every field or if we're just picking the best sites.
