Had an hour yesterday to get back to the site that produced the 1851 large cent and the NY militia button from my last post from a heavily hunted spot. Somehow managed to pull a few good targets out. Almost passed the signal of the flying eagle due to it being so faint and barely audible. So glad I didn’t!! Haven’t dug one of these in years ! Finished up with a nice very deep trigger guard and a flat button. The Equinox does not disappoint. Thanks for letting me share and good luck to everyone !

Love the design on the trigger guard and great looking Flying Eagle Cent.

Nice recoveries the copper and trigger guard are in great shape.
Then again that soil looks real nice and sandy-a big bonus.

Firm believer in faint signals & if it makes noise ... DIG IT .... these were mixed in with some faint/deep signals.....On the Fla. treasure coast :):occasion14: 097.JPG

298,

Very nice. You have to love the forgiving sandy soil - definitely one of my my favorite places to detect. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

Thank you!

Great stuff!
That Flying eagle Cent is in great shape...!
Reverse the same, I'd bet...!
The one I dug years ago, all you can see is the shape of the eagle...!

Sorry for late replies... work gets in the way of my passion at times... Congrats! They are hard to come by . Yes the reverse is just as nice , unbelievable.

Great work!!! I'm a signal snob but since the weather got colder I spend my time reading and learning more....the next time I detect I'm digging everything. I wonder how much stuff I've passed on for some other MDer to dig??? We may never know. If this snow melts soon I'll let you all know.

Thanks ! I wonder the same it took years for me to start sighing gently the faint signals

Beautiful flying eagle, congrats. As appreciated as FE's are as a recovery, they usually emerge in pretty rough shape.

Thanks ! Yes they are ,very surprised when it came out out that way , my first thought was an Indian , nice to be wrong

nice find what did it read (on your nox?) and how deep?
Always love finding those.

Thanks!
It was around 9 to 10”and I believe it was a 16 when I first went over but just a whisper of a signal.
