Is it lead? Pewter? Pot metal? How big is it? Dig until your arm falls off

Put a magnet to it and it's non-magnetic. I have no clue what it is. It was 8 inches in the ground, maybe a little bit more than 8 inches, but pretty close. All the pics I took of it are in all directions of the object. So that's what I'm trying to find out. Thank you for responding to the thread.

Here's the photos you asked for. hope they will help.

I put a quarter next to the object and put one in the object if that helps.

Is it something old or nothing important? Should I clean it to see what kind of metal it is or leave it the way it is?

back part of a barrel spigot would have a hole in it, from what I can see, the fragment in question does not have a hole, but a solid projection from what might be the bottom or top. Did you just dig it up or did it register on a metal dectector? you said it is non-magnetic, but is it metal?
From the looks of the picture, I would guess some kind of pot-metal (zinc/aluminum/lead) but it could also be ceramic if it was not detected as metal and just dug up found. Reminds me of a crucible, the small assay type. But if it is metal, I have no clue what it might be

Found it with my metal detector. My GTI 2500. I just wire brushed the object, so here are 2 more pictures. Seems to be metal. Ping-pointer pings as metal.

2 more pictures. Really hard using a wire brush to get to the metal.

No the top is solid. I will try cleaning it more so I can show a better detailed picture.

It's a good find if you enjoyed finding it.

Value? About 20¢ a pound for iron or $1.60/lb for brass.
