Dieges & Clust Pin w/ A.R.C. Acronym & Cricket logo?

hi, this is a pin but for the life of me can't find what the acronym A.R.C. means? also a cricket for a logo is odd too, unless it is some sort of cricket club as in the sport/game of cricket? I have searched with every search engine available entering "A.R.C." "acronym" "Dieges & Clust" "cricket pin" "A.R.C. cricket" with no results..does anybody know what the A.R.C. acronym equates to?

Re: Dieges & Clust Pin w/ A.R.C. Acronym & Cricket logo?

Dieges and Clust was a New York company that manufactured medals and trophies during the early twentieth century. The firm designed trophies for the A. G. Spalding Sporting Goods Company (1905-1930); the Eagle Scout medal for the Boy Scouts of America (1916-1920); the Oersted Medal for the American Association of Physics teachers (beginning 1936); and a variety of military medals.

I have also seen numerous examples of Champion Rings, school rings, and other items with the Dieges & Clust backmark right up into the late 1950's.

Still looking for a link to A.R.C. and the cricket, hoping someone has better luck than me......

The information above came from this link :dontknow: dont think there is a connection either although cricket is the most popular sport in India http://www.hindu.com/2007/01/04/stories/2007010412142000.htm

But the word C maybe be for cricket. The word A may be Association :dontknow: Its a mystery

yes, agreed, but now I am wondering if it is even a cricket image? maybe it's a long eared grasshopper?
A.R.C.
the letter"A" could stand for Association, Associated, American, Army? (Army of The Republic?), Agricultural, Albany, Albia, Amalgamated, Alliance, Agrarian, Affiliated, Automatic, Atlantic, Allegheny, Apothecary, Andalusian, Atlanta, Antwerp, Assimilated, Artisan,
AMERICAN ROTARY CLUB???? did they have a cricket for their mascot? LOL

One avenue that might be worth researching further is Amateur Radio Club; specifically telegraphy.

The cricket logo might represent 'sending signals through code'.

I spent a bit of time researching but nothing conclusive. I did find that there is/was a telegraphist's key design called a cricket, but no other connection.

Cheers, Mike
