Looks like a very nice hunt. Check that merc. I think they all have a W, look on the reverse. If there's a D at the bottom you have found a valuable coin.

There is no w that is the engraver or artists initials lol the mint mark is on the back. Some of the newer commemoritives have them I think (correct me if Im wrong from west point) but not old circ coinage.

If you click on his merc you can see a W just to the upper right of the date .
I also thought that was a MM until i saw the back of one .
So a grabed my small pile of mercs found a 1916
Crossed my fingers , did a drum roll and nothing .Oh well next time
