So... a couple of weeks ago in the mail I received this 8 1/2" x 11" envelope in the mail from eBay and figured it was just more of the same junk about seminars or them trying to give me selling tips.. I must say that one of the first things I noticed about the envelope pizzed me off.. my eBay username was printed above my address on the front of the dang thing... The way I've always been is that I don't just go around advertising my username because I don't like people knowing my business unless they really need to know my business.. I mean, I don't need people to buy stuff from me just because they know me... if you are looking for something on eBay and I happen to be selling that item then so be it.. know what I mean? Here's my scenario... I live above a bar and my mail comes to the bar.. the owner often gives me things to sell that have been laying around for years and lets me keep all profits.. need I say more?...
Anyway.. Back on track here, sorry. So I open up the envelope and see this certificate congratulating me for being a "Top Rated Seller".. big deal. I've seen similar certificates before but always threw them in the trash but I kept this one kind of for a joke.. Well, I recently decided to seek out another position with a business as an eBay specialist and I found an opening which I interviewed for a couple days ago.. Most of my resume reflects positions in the shipping/receiving departments of various places but only one eBay specialist position at an auto salvage yard.. When I went in for my interview I decided at the last minute to bring the certificate with me just for the heck of it, it can't possibly hurt anything.. Well, it turns out that the certificate really impressed them and they can't wait for me to start on the 18th of Feb.((I have the skills to back up the certificate)) My new playground will be a 50,000 SQ FT warehouse of store buyouts, customer returns and overstock.. I will also be in charge of auctioning off entire pallets of merchandise locally + putting larger items on craigslist... Oh, I also make my own hours
Thanks for the cheesy certificate, eBay.. I'm sure than some of you received the same one in the mail.. You should keep it, it may be useful some day
