(The pics here are of Rock 3) (Rocks 1 & 2 will be in separate posts)

Rocks 1 and 2 are heavy, but they look like fired clay?
Rock 3 has a definite beveled edge that is significantly smoother that the rest of the surface.
Are these just simple rocks or artifacts of some sort?

The last one looks like an ancient bicycle seat! Nice finds!

All three look natural to me. It's not always easy to identify material types from pictures but one and two look more like natural stone instead of fired clay to me.

same here. I dont see fired clay. Too many layers say it's rock.

Thanks guys.. I guess what is throwing me off is the red clay color of Rock No.1 and the shrink cracks in Rock No.2 .. sorta like the shrink cracks you see in dried mud in river beds, etc. Here are a few more pics just for the fun of it.

The rocks in the picture above definitely look to have been heated in a fire. :icon_scratch:
As far as the rocks in your first posted pic, I'd consider posting them in the Tnet forum below to see what those guys think.

Rock #3 looks like it was from a desert region.Antiquarian said what I was going to say rocks 1and 2 look to have been in a fire that could account for the cracking in rock #2, it also looks to have iron in it with the rust being present.
