I get better depth with a/c sensitivity at 75 to 80 and preamp at 4. Sweep speed at 10, recovery at 20 and filter setting at 4. I use +1 track offset. The ground here in East Texas is highly mineralized. I try to crank up A/c sensitivity until it gets erratic, I've found the DFX runs its best if stable ( non erratic, no popping-false signals). Also, when you ground balance pull the pinpoint trigger to go into all metal mode and sweep the ground area to make sure its clean--no metal, then ground balance. Been hunting with my DFX 9 yrs and love it. If these settings work good in your ground you can put them in the EEPROM program to save for your next hunt. My coil is the stock 950 eclipse. Hope this helps and good luck hunting.
