Deus

If I had to pick two machines... It would be the Xp Deus and the CTX 3030. As Bart painted out you can cover most any detecting situation with those two machines.

I would hope so! You are talking $4500.00 in detectors....You can buy an ATpro, a Tejon and a T2 for just the price of the Deus! No way is that machine going to do what all three of those machines can do. People think because they spend three times the money on their gear, that they will find three times the finds; nope! I would have to have some serious proof of these machines capabilities to even consider them for the HUGE price difference.

sure hope know one charged 4500 for those detectors I That would be a scrueing!

XP deus=1800.00 ctx 3030= 2499.00 add the tax and additional charges and you are going to be very close to $4500.00 But, yes you are getting screwed!!!

that is if you pay full retail, call around I guarantee you will get them a lot less

I wouldn't pay 3500 for both of them....and you wont get them that cheap. My point is they are both over priced machines loaded with bells and whistles that i could care less about.

Sounds like you want to up your detecting game. So far I like what I see with the dues. I dont have a need for the ctx, guess it depends on where you hunt.

Don't get me wrong I have an ATP and a xp deus. And I agree more doesn't always mean better . I wouldn't pay 1800 for a deus when you can get then new with a remote WELL under 1400. As far as the ctx I have heard of people getting them in the 1700 range.

My point was the minelab offers great info and having a water machine that also performs well in salt or doubles as a good land machine is hard to beat .

My statement is simply if you want two of the better machines that give you flexibility and performance you can't go wrong with those two.

If I had to go the cheaper route which is what I have currently .. It's the Deus and ATP combo.
Btw you can get an ATP for around $500 too...

I mean if you want a cheaper machine their is a long line of Bounty Hunters and a harbor freight that also goes beep if metal touches the coil.

An AT pro is far from a bounty hunter! I have no interest in hunting salt...as with a big part of this country, since only so many people live near the beach. For me, if i pay over say 1500 dollars for a machine it will be a deep reading PI machine like the ATX. But im sure it is junk aswell since it doesnt have 17 different programs to choose from and a GPS and a touch screen and......etc. And if i want really great info about a target...I DIG IT!

Have you owned an Etrac or ctx?
I am not saying the ATP isn't a great machine for the money and I would match it up to most $1000 machines. It is just out classed by the Etrac and Deus though. I have owned all three. For a cheap water machine and the price you can't hardly beat it.

Not sure Why these 3 machines are even being compared to one another they are all different & all excell in different áreas over the other get what works for you weather it be a $2500 machine $200 machine as Long as ur having fun on what you do land or water or both we all hunt different styles & places. What one uses to me would be the last thing on my mind. First research to that cool place to go.

I have used a ctx and didnt see where it done anything the ATP wont do....it finds metal! Oh, and a gps....but it just has a fancier, more high-tech way of doing the same thing that i do with the atp. And depth or target seperation was no better. I am sure as christo stated that there is situations it may out do the pro; but it should excel in every situation for the price. Just IMO i would rather spend the same money on a PI machine like the ATX and get the greater depths, especially in bad ground. The fancy screens just dont do it for me.....but we all have our preferences.
