If I had to pick two machines... It would be the Xp Deus and the CTX 3030. As Bart painted out you can cover most any detecting situation with those two machines.

sure hope know one charged 4500 for those detectors I That would be a scrueing!I would hope so! You are talking $4500.00 in detectors....You can buy an ATpro, a Tejon and a T2 for just the price of the Deus! No way is that machine going to do what all three of those machines can do. People think because they spend three times the money on their gear, that they will find three times the finds; nope! I would have to have some serious proof of these machines capabilities to even consider them for the HUGE price difference.
that is if you pay full retail, call around I guarantee you will get them a lot lessXP deus=1800.00 ctx 3030= 2499.00 add the tax and additional charges and you are going to be very close to $4500.00 But, yes you are getting screwed!!!
I wouldn't pay 3500 for both of them....and you wont get them that cheap. My point is they are both over priced machines loaded with bells and whistles that i could care less about.
An AT pro is far from a bounty hunter! I have no interest in hunting salt...as with a big part of this country, since only so many people live near the beach. For me, if i pay over say 1500 dollars for a machine it will be a deep reading PI machine like the ATX. But im sure it is junk aswell since it doesnt have 17 different programs to choose from and a GPS and a touch screen and......etc. And if i want really great info about a target...I DIG IT!
Have you owned an Etrac or ctx?
I am not saying the ATP isn't a great machine for the money and I would match it up to most $1000 machines. It is just out classed by the Etrac and Deus though. I have owned all three. For a cheap water machine and the price you can't hardly beat it.

I have used a ctx and didnt see where it done anything the ATP wont do....it finds metal! Oh, and a gps....but it just has a fancier, more high-tech way of doing the same thing that i do with the atp. And depth or target seperation was no better. I am sure as christo stated that there is situations it may out do the pro; but it should excel in every situation for the price. Just IMO i would rather spend the same money on a PI machine like the ATX and get the greater depths, especially in bad ground. The fancy screens just dont do it for me.....but we all have our preferences.
