Detectors and motorcycles?

Why Yes, I've done that! By 2 wheeler and 3 wheeler. 3 wheeler I've found to be easier, Can carry everything = Locator, as well as camping gear. Plus a companion. A great way to go. only don't let bike out of your search site. bad things could happen! The ole biker, Monk
 

I thought there must be others out there. Way to go! I enjoy it and feel more like looking for those out of the way places to hunt. More often than i do in a car. Keep it up.
 

I do a lot of exploring on my 4-wheeler and run onto old homesites way out in the middle of nowhere quite often. The next time I set out I am going to mark the location of some of the places (most of them are not accessable by road) and come back with my detector. I usually don't have time to do any detecting on the spot for fear of holding up the other guys who ride with me. Next month we are going to ride a trail in S. E. Okla that is a maze of old lumber roads. We will be gone for about a week and I will take my detector with me.
 

jimmileo; That would be a blast! Keep an eye out for remnants of an old logging camp. We usually ride the 2 lane roads out through the country side and i'm always watching for spots. If i see one i make a mental note. In a few days the detectors on my back and I'M RIDING!! Hope you'll post when you get back. I can't wait to hear about it.
 

Yes I have done this on my Triumph. I have leather saddlebags and if I take down my detector it fits nicely in them.

Have 1970 ct 90 honda trail bike . not racing but real trail bike . This thing will climb a tree . honda took engine of this bike and used it on first 3 wheelers . has luggage rack on back . md will strap to luggage rack and off we go . with gas prices the way they are this is only way to go . will go about 60 mph in high range and about 15 in low . Carried it to colorado several times on hunting trips in mountains . One trip strapped mule deer across rack to haul it out ! kids call it ~flame ~ . bumper sticker on back....I may be slow but i am ahead of you .
 

greenswinger; I wished i'd had your bike when i use to hunt mulies in eastern oregon. It was always down into the ravine up the other side, into the ravine up the other side, into the ravine up the other sid...... HH
 

I also have 2 dirt bikes and since I live on a private road I can ride to the local swimming hole to go detecting. They are 1973 Alouette 125cc's made in Canada. One is still a basket case that I am working on.
 

Man, those are probably collector status now, like your triumph huh?!
 

greenswinger! I had a 1970 Honda Trail 90, Bought it new and rode it over into old Mex. for about a week, was going to stay a Mouth. But couldn't speak spanish, so I cut trip short. Anyway the Trail 90 was better then a horse for getting around, wish I still had it. And oh yes I carried my locator with me on many times out. Monk
 

Yes collectors items for sure. The mint one is worth $3000 and my basket case bike will be when I'm done with it. still 8" of snow here, can't wait for ice out to try out my Fisher 1280-x.
 

Yes I mave an old KZ 1000 with sadle bags and a sissy bar to strap the md to.I love them both . 8)

I have to charge it up and start it I'm ready .Went out diggin today for a little while after work found 53 cents clad in a hay field. It got up to 50 dagrees today thats good enough for me :o

Got a big old Schwinn that I pack up for some out of the way spots. Pedal power. Also got a canoe for those sites where water gets in the way. Paddle power.
 

? ? ? ?Showered off and on here. But i got out for awhile and checked around an old foundation that was a distillery up to the late 1800's in a town nearby. Just clads and an old hunting knife. First time there, and its a large area. So ?i'll keep going back. Too big and old not to have some goodies there somewhere. Remember to wave, it might be me. ? HH

Went out this morning for about an hour .Went to my old school to look for a ring that one of my friends daughters lost last year so I only dug one to two inch targets
still found 80 cents clad. I wave to everyone.
