Ok we cut the trip short and headed back to home turf, I have taken about 6 people up to bullet hill since i found the 1823 Capped bust half there, well during that time they found an 1859 fatty, seated quarter, and a sapphire ring...so we decided to hit oit one last time, and after a few hours we were done and I decided to go to the spot I found the capped bust half to relive the experiance and about 2 ft. away was a big iron signal said what the hell dug it up and sure enough it was a piece of old iron stove, I have a sunray probe and used it to make sure that was the only piece and bam!! it said 90 VDI on my XLT, which is half dollar... i look in the hole where the probe said and I see a coin.... turned out to be another 1823 "broken 3" capped bust half. my second in 2 weeks what a scream I let out!!!!!!!! jd

U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!. That is most excellent . Now do ya think since you found part of a stove that this was a junk pile or is this a site a home or camp was on. It sure is great.I would be interested if you found out if it was an old homesite or what your thoughts were JD. HH and again, Congrats.

this large stone structure is on the bottom of the hill, there is a large sdeep stream running right next to it, it is approx 1/4 mile from the missouri river, this structure is not on the topos! jd

maybe small time stone quarry? Great hunts as usual Bud! Keep 'em coming!

Very nice. Have you tried looking for some old maps and articles from the county it is in at the local library? I would think a structure like this would be listed somewhere. Also might give you a clue as to what else or how big the site is. Also now that i have made you a researcher and you have nothing else to do could ya map the site itself LOL. Just kiddin. Anyway thanks for the pics now i can day dream some more as I live vicariously through the board.LOL ;)

:) Great work JD, ;D Now Kayleigh is going to have to adjust her eyes from the colored marbles to the stone marbles.Wish you all the luck and look forward to your next pic,sHH
