I've been checking with different parks and recs here in town and have gotten a wide range of responses. I suburb that I live the director of parks and recs said go ahead but he gets 10%!!!
He was kidding and said good hunting. The suburb next to me said that I was illegal because of the destruction the guys left behind. Haven't heard back from others, but I'm glad I have done some checking.

go to the liabrary refrence sectio n and ask for a copy of the bylaws of the town. I have been in towns where I was told no detecting, but upon reading the laws I found out I could , so I copied out the sections of laws chapter and verse and furnsihed it to the nay sayers who upon reading it went away and left me alone.
