I'm posting this for another person. He can't seem to get a straight answer so I figured I'd try here. He was thinking it goes on top of a flag staff and was broken off then later altered. I was think more along the lines of an umbrella tip or cane tip.

Thanks.

Where did he find it? That may help out with the proper ID. I think vase also, It looks to large for a cane tip or umbrella tip

definitely looks silver. Bust out the baking soda, aluminum, boiling water and take a picture. If bubbles come off of it...good news!

When I see poor pictures, out of focus etc., I dont even try to ID. I just move on to the next one. The resolution is so poor, I can t even tell if its an American coin. Are these celphone pics?

In your second photo, I can read some of the lettering on your Blood Glucose prescription bottle but the artifact is out of focus. This tells me you are not using the Macro setting, or you dont have one, or you are not giving the auto focus enough time. It also makes for a poor picture to have clutter on the table. Use a colored towel or tablecloth outside in the sun for beautiful photos.

Im sorry if this appears rude. I am trying to help you. If you posted these pics on eBay, you would never sell anything. They may even be rejected. But like I say, Im taking time to tell you this because Im trying to help.

Indeed! ARRC- IMO was dialing in on the usage and function of this item. I was looking up, vintage >estate > corsage > flower > vase > brooch > pin. and came to believe this is an antique little tiny flower vase piece of jewelry. Kind of a thing to be wearing from the late 19th to first half of the 20th century if you were a slick chick back in the day.

None of those will have a flange attachment at the base. (the widen end)

I beg to differ - some will have a flange at the open end (it isn't the base). For example this one is from the link I posted earlier.

and there are many more similar examples on that link, should one care to visit it.

Still disagree.
