Decorative Lead piece.

I found this with a number of three ring bullets and musket balls and war of 1812 buttons. The piece is made of lead. Doesn't seem like it broke off anything. Could it me a mold? Any guesses?

I'm thinking maybe a bored soldier carved the design into some wood and poured the lead into it?

It's an applied decoration that was cast in a mold. Cheaper than hand carved wood, and before machine carved wood decorations like you can buy in the hardware store. May have been scavenged for lead for casting.

Maybe its a plaster mold for room decorations that were painted with gold gilt to embelish archways and ceiling boarders. Just a guess.

I should buy some puddy to see what the design reverse design looks like. I could also use plaster.
