Nice. I live in Ireland now, but I was born in America, and on my father's side is Samuel Chase, the 2nd signer of the Declaration of Independence. He would be my great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather. I think I left enough "greats" in there. My wife's grandmother was one of only 6 women jailed in Ireland for the 1916 Easter uprising, so I'm a bit worried our son could be a bit of a rebel. Anyway, that's a great, important historical find. Well done.

thanks DJ thats some great info., and history you have in your family there thats really cool thanks for posting. jd

WOW! What a rush! Must have been amazing, seeing that thing come out of the ground. You're holding history in your hand!

Interesting post. If he did wear that shoe peice then thats a good peice of history. My great, great, etc.(not sure how many greats, my Grandma and Uncle gave me info but I don't have it memorized) grandfathers brother Richard Henry Lee. Also my Grandma and Uncle may have said that Francis Lightfoot Lee, may be a relative to us. Where area did you find these momentos? Where they found together?

Peter
