Now, at Christmas time, this song always come to my mind.
I'm old enough (81) to remember when this song came out (1948).
Several versions were made after this one to state the various wars that followed WW II, but this one stays my favorite.

..I don’t recall this song before. It seems like songs story lines were used for a purpose, or just the betterment of mankind, this country needs a hero...
