Death in the sand

I found this in a sand volleyball court. Who would wear this 2" sterling grim reaper?? Thought it was a saint or something until I cleaned it off.

Most precious metals made in Mexico are marked as such..I do not see anywhere a Mexico mark.. I'm pretty sure this is made in CHINA an I have m,y doubts about it being sterlings... Hopefully I am wrong,but I have seen plenty of these types of items at the store I work....

Good question. Once I received a Gothic style pendant as a gift from my friend in NZ who bought it at some antique shop. It costed as a silver and for a long time I believed it to be silver until I gained some experience in this hobby. The pendant turned out to be a pewter or similar alloy thing. The back of it looks very similar to your pendant. I had a 'friendly' chat with a vendor. And he confessed that it was a modern souvenir 'Made in China' but not marked as one. He also had all kinds of 'silver rings' on his display that had tarnished look about them. Still I hope that yours is a real one.

I am 100% sure that this pendant is silver. last year the hunt of the sea a pendant of the Virgin Mary by the same workshop ..... is amazing.
is the same factory that silver on the inside has the ridges and the top link in the chain is identical, certainly the factory is the same but the thematic opposite.

My medal is 925 is tested .... and the patina is black (only silver has a black patina)

I agree with HISPAN that the bales match and may have been made at the same factory.
