That is a big item in Mexico! Congrats on the silver.

HH

I would wear it if it was gold. Wearing silver just isn't my thing. Cool find.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but are you sure it's Silver? Yeah I know it has 925 on it... I am asking cause at the store I work at we had some stuff similar to what you found that was marked 925 an I know for a fact it wasn't silver.. China is sometimes marking items 925 to deceive the us consumer now

read about / "the day of the dead" ritual in mexico --see the "halo" on death ? -- they believe their "loved ones" / the dead are still with us in spirit * mexico makes butt loads of sterling silver (925) items

Most precious metals made in Mexico are marked as such..I do not see anywhere a Mexico mark.. I'm pretty sure this is made in CHINA an I have m,y doubts about it being sterlings... Hopefully I am wrong, but I have seen plenty of these types of items at the store I work....

I found this in a sand volleyball court. Who would wear this 2" sterling grim reaper?? Thought it was a saint or something until I cleaned it off.

Maybe it was the same person that lost the jeweled silver dagger. :D

There wasn't any goth/punk concerts in the area were there? ;D

Don't touch it...it is evil...

Congrats on the find

I've found a pretty good amount of fake silver and gold jewelry from Mexico. They will mark obvious plated rings, bracelets, pendants, etc., as sterling or 14k. They have a pretty good racket going faking out American tourists.

If I was him I would get it tested cause I am fairly sure it's not sterling...

Thanks for the info everyone. I will have it tested. Found it at a lake park volleyball court after the 4th. Silver or not, I still like it.

Yeah, I thought my 12 year old son would probably like it, too! I'm just a 50+ mom so it's not quite my style! :D
