Now there is obviously a error in the eight, but is it enough to have an value? I found this MDing a site today, when I washed it off I noticed that the eight looked double die so I got a closer look, and there seems to be an error. The left side of the eight is thicker and rougher than the right side. Also, from a higher angle it looks like as if it was stamped twice because the other numbers point up and the eight appears to be "flattened" HH Jonathan

Ive never saw a coin (US) that had the date stamped in like that instead of being raised.....except for the 1908-1929 Indian Head Half Eagles.

Might help if you mention what kind of coin it is. Looks to be a dime ???

It Is Raised. Just An Optical Illusion Of Depth. Look at The 9 & THINK RAISED, The Whole date Will Pop out

Still looks sunken to me..........inside of the D, 9,6, and 8 looks raised.

I must have got up too early this morning. :D

LOL ZEKE.

? I think It's Caused By The Angel of The Light Hitting VS. The Angel of The Camera.

Now youre seeing angels? You must have got up too early too. ;D Jeff.......Stay away from the light......dont go towards the light. Hey wait........Do you see Carol Ann in there?

Sorry, I meant viewing it upside down would help Zeke with the raised versus stamped look.

I do see what you mean about the 8, just have no idea if that makes it an error or not.? That's a really nice close up picture!

Jake, no comment... ::) ;D
