Last Sunday was asked to go Detecting with South Jersey Jim (my son) and Arty Facts. Wasn't feeling well so couldn't go. Well they were going again Yesterday and I could finally make this trip. After hearing all about what they were finding I was totally psyched!! Well it sure didn't dissappoint. I don't know if any of you have seen the new show called"Digger" or not but if you have you will appreciate this. We were detecting finding some buttons and all the sudden I got that Good signal, dug down and out pops a beautiful 1832 Draped Bust 1/2 Dime. I screamed, "I found roundness." Everyone came over to see my find and we went back to detecting. You have to understand I am known as the "Secret Weapon" because when I go detecting with Jim and Arty they seem to do very well and I do O.K. Well it was the Secret Weapons turn to do some butt kicking:) Here are my totals of the stuff I found. Also Jim was right, I have never seen so many buttons of all different kinds. I ended up with an 1833 Capped Bust Dime that was interesting because the last 3 was up higher than the other one. I looked it up and it is in the book that they made them that way. Always learning:) An 1832 Dapped Bust 1/2 Dime, 1786 1/2 Reale, a Georgeous(Head faces left )coin which I think is a farthing which I can't read the date, a draped Bust Large Cent with no date, and indian head penney with no date, a wheattie 1937, Also got what I thought was a large cent but it has Van Buren and the words Take the Responsibility and something else written on the medal(maybe a presidential Medal). Lots of lead and last but not least 39 buttons. Jim Beat me by one, he got 40. A little competition by Mom and Son everytime we go out but this time Mom had her day:) Can't wait to get back out there!!!!!

Love that silv and roundness! That navy button is also sweet. Gonna have to stop by and check all those buttons and coins out up close. Isnt it strange that more bust silver came out over large cents. These settlers were rich ! There has to be a gold coin lurking in the depths I know it.

Very nice.yaw shore are getting some great relics at that spot.keep up the great work.

Hay Jim, Jeff here
I been gone for a while but would like to know if you and your family ever got into my old homestead on Center Square Rd. in Swedesboro...
It's prob. posted but,I can guarantee you, their are some great finds to be had there...
Prob. horribly overgrown with gum trees too...

Hey Jeff we did get there before it was posted. A lot of trash but found some butttons in the fields by the RR tracks. Thanks again!

If there is Jim I hope that you find it! There is nothing like the feeling of finding a gold coin! You think you are tall now? I would have to get stilts to bring you down to earth. But I know that you would be very understanding if I or Arty were to find it, right?? Not:):)

Amazing site you guys are on - lots of fancy buttons and lots of silver coins. You got 2 Capped Bust silvers and Art got 3. That's 5 in one day. Heck, I have dug 54 Spanish silvers in my career, but ONLY one Capped Bust silver in 27 years of digging!!!

Diane your navy button is in great shape compared to the two I dug. Love those silver coins there lady, you had a great day. I also felt the brunt of the mud slinging the next day, ugh...

Great silvers and coins as a whole! Congrats.................Hogge

Thanks Ben. I hope that is true but I wouldn't feel bad if someone else were to find a gold coin. Everyone has to experience that rush in life:)

Hi Steve, Yes I have never experienced anything quite like this. I kept saying there should be Large Cents or Coppers all over the place with the amount of silver we found. Like Jim said they must have had money. I am hoping that they were very rich and that a gold coin or two comes out of there:) The thing that is interesting is all the buttons. Most of the time you find the same kind of button or a couple different kinds but this place has all different kinds. I am hoping that this coming weekend that it is like Christmas all over again. But if it isn't it will have been a good run!
