Date this Military Button?

I posted this in today's finds but I am interested in knowing your opinions on the date. It is made of pewter. Thanks for looking!

I don't have too many references that come close... but, "IF" it's a U.S.Navy button, I would feel comfortable claiming 1790(ish) to 1820(ish).

I only base that on an example I found that is close but "NOT" the same...

Can you also add a picture of the back of the button, and tell a little about where you found it? Do you expect it to be from a certain era? Did you find it in Canada? Do you expect it to be US or Canadian?

The button is home and I am not...I'll try to get a pic up of the back soon. The back is just the nub of the shank...no markings. I do not expect it to be a US button. Found in Nova Scotia Canada...I'm thinking British...or even French.
