Date on St Gerard Medal with skull ??

Hello All,
I remember a post about a religious medallion with a skull.
at some point the church began to frown on the use this image.
Am hoping someone can help with dating this medal.

The one side is St. Gerard; the other, Perpetuo Soccorso (Perpetual Help).

I found a similar one that states it as "vintage" with no date given.

I remember another post that discussed the date of omission of skull & crossbones on Catholic pendants, it was sometime in the last year I believe.
Not having any luck with the site search

items with skulls on it are often no earlier that about 1900 --in the late 1800 's the catholic church got away from the skull & cross bones image -- (victory over death) was its symbolic meaning
