it's either nephrite, jadeite, or slag in my opinion. Where did you find it, state, province, etc.?

Edit, it's not slag on closer exam. Still going with nephrite or jadeite though

it was given to me by my mom back in the early 80's. i believe she was living in egypt when she got it, i could be wrong though. ill post some better pics here shortly. thank you for your reply.

Looks like malachite to me

anyone else have any ideas. under a microscope there is a section that is a deep blue color surrounded by the green. there are alot of black spots mixed in also. any help is appreciated. thanks again.

I agree with PikesPeakCharlie. :icon_thumright: The black spots are also indicative of it being malachite as well.

I scratched it with quartz. It only left a white streak. but It didn't scratch it. The streak color is turquoise color.
