Daniel Boone Coin?

A friend of mine found this coin in an old horse drawn buggy about 40 years ago he says. I have tried finding the coin in books and on the internet and can only find a 1936 minted coin. Can anyone tell me more about this coin so I can help him with more info on it? he wants to know what it may be worth, someone offered him 80 dollars for it and he declined.

The Kentucky Historical Society was founded in 1836.

"United We Stand Divided We Fall" is the Kentucky State Motto on the State Seal.

It is not a coin but a medal apparently issued for the Kentucky Historical society.

This one is not identical. The one with Boone may be a little more desirable.

I see the green check. Do you think its the 175th anniversary token issued in 1967? Maybe he should take the $80. There was something about it didnt look old.
