To make a long story short....Schloopy invited me for a weekend hunt at his Honey Hole.....It turned out to be almost 23 hours of grueling hunting. I warned Schloopy from the begging that I was a Power Hunter!!!!! Ha, ha! We had little sleep, (since I arrived at 11pm the previous night and we got up at 5 am and started hunting at 6am) it was in the 90's....We were tired, dizzy, hot, sunburned, and just down right beat after it was all over. I want to say thank you to Schloopy for allowing me the honor of hunting this spot... It was an awesome spot. One you have to hunt to believe. Like I said in my post a few weeks ago some TH'ers are stingy with their good spots or Honey Holes as I call them....Fortunately I have hunting partners that like to share the finds......Relikhunter, Schloopy and Renegade7 to name a few....This week it was Schloopy and I.
I will not list John's finds as it is his duty to brag about his goodies....I will post pics of both though...To distinguish the two I will say that my finds will be the one with the horse head item and old crack pipe looking item...Of course it's not a crack pipe but Schloopy and I thought it looked like one.....A turn of the century one at that!!!! Ha, ha. I will also post some pics of the items as they came out of the ground and some that were just lying on the ground......Easy digging I say.
I had the best hunting weekend...Haven't had this much luck in a long time. I ended up with 6 Indian head pennies (1890, 1900, 1901, 1904, 1906, 1907) one 1905 V-nickel and best of all a Key Date 1892-S Barber Dime....I've been very lucky lately..If you'll remember my post a couple of weeks ago when Schloopy and I hunted with Relikhunter in Kansas I pulled a 1897-S Key date Barber Qtr.....On a roll is all I can say and I ain't complaining....LOL!!!! I also found 7 tokens.....3 were beyond reading and broke in my hand but 4 came out nicely....One reads P.B. Doniphan, Excelsior Springs, MO....11th Street Pharmacy, another reads G.T. Harrison (with address) Good for 2 1/2 cents in trade, KC MO. Another reads 50 cent Molitor Drinks, and the last reads John's Dry Goods, Good for 1.00 in trade, KC MO. I also found some Baggage tags. One just has the letter E with the number 347 and the other actually has the Company name of B.A.M & Co and the number 24. Schloopy also found several tokens and number tags....His tokens were much nicer than mine. Another cool item I found was a pendant shaped like a bull with the words Bull Durham across the midsection of the Bull....I know that Bull Durham was the name of a Tobacco comany that was in existence from the mid 1800's to the early 1900's....That's what I've been told anyhow. Among our finds were other odds and ends....You will see in the pics...Neither Schloopy nor myself have a great camera so I did the best I could with the pics....Hope you enjoy them.
I love to hunt with good friends...We've decided to do this once a month or so...Next time it's at my place...We all have to hunt a CCC camp that I came across....It was supposed to be one of the biggest Camps in Mid Missouri and luckily it's on private property in which I've obtained permission to hunt it....Wish us luck ya'll.
Unfortunately Relikhunter couldn't make it this weekend....He plays in a band that he brags about (that I've yet to see perform) and couldn't make it. Hopefully he'll be there next time.....He just keeps you laughing the whole time you're hunting. I had to give Schloopy some medical boot advice this weekend....He had a blow out on his boot so I offered the fix, DUCT TAPE!!!!! Hunt till they fall apart I say and then tape em up! Those boots have now been given added milage. LOL!
Anyway, it was a great weekend with a great hunting partner and wonderful finds.....Thanks again Schloopy....I had a great time!
Hope you all enjoy the post....Until next time,
Pics of our finds are further down in the thread.....Forgot to post them initially....
