I wonder if this might be a variation of a Bowie knife. Were other CW Relics found on this same site? Nice looking find.

Looks sorta like a harrow tooth. It would be nice to see a side view so we can get a better idea of the thickness and shape.

Could it be a rusted out spike with a washer

Colonial_Digger, the side of the blade facing the measuring tape appears too thick to have been a knife, so posting a thickness measurement and a pic of the side would help.

Dear Colonial Digger, Welcome and nice find! For reference on preferred knife widths look up Confederate naval short sword. Now that's a knife. A man armed with one of these was the better of a man with a bayonet any day!

Harrow spike is correct , thanks for everyone's input, some times you just want it to be something more ! but any find is a good find.
