This was given to me on Christmas many years ago by my g grandfather he owned a drug store in dover webb and bruton drug and back then if a person didn't have money for there medicine he would trade for what ever people had to get there medicine and that's how he got this.

i would say that your Grandfather got the better end of that trade!!
Not only do you have a fantastic relic, you also have something that meant a lot to your Grandfather. Congrats!!!

I think he was sharing a photo not asking for authenticity . Please read how the rules apply here in situations such as this.
 

Many "D" guards were hand made or built in the field or by the black smith as they were popular. Some though even carried makers marks. Looks like you have a nice collection. Give me one confederate enfield bullet over 10 -3 ringers any day haha
