CZ-21

The CZ21 is designed for underwater use. It can be used on land, but the CZ3D is much better suited to land use.

Thanks for the reply Dave
I have just started hunting freshwater beaches, so yes, I will be purchasing the CZ 21 for that purpose primarily. I would like to use it also on land and I am wondering about coil selection, as the coil seems to be hard wired.

When I keep my batteries new and full I find that my gold finds are almost instantaneous, the czpro 21 is great, I would have to see some other detector in action to convince me to go otherwise, sent mine to fisher for some repairs, but I expect to get it back in a few days... I love using the pinpoint feature...

Thanks for sharing about its durability! I am finding this topic very informative. I used another very popular brand of water detector for years but finally gave up after struggling with its build quality. I have been chomping at the bit to get another waterproof detector, but hesitant after a couple of bad experiences. It sounds like you put yours through the test and it has held up. That is very nice to know. I might be getting one of these soon. You guys are making it nearly irresistible! Thanks.

Hey smokey - Just want you to hear the negative side. My scuba buddy and I both had the CZ21, we both got very irritated at how big and clumsy it is. We called it "our shoebox on a stick". You can't set the dang thing down anywhere because it falls over, it's top heavy and it floats away while your detecting. My battery case leaked and that was a huge hassel. I just had bad luck all around with mine, though I did find a heck of a lotta nails!!!! Now all you CZ boys just settle down, this is my truthful opinion as I experienced it.

My old cz20 8" is hotter than hell in autotune. I am mainly a turf coin shooter and I run strictly autotune until I hit the deeper faint signals. I ignore shallow crap. I hip mount the brain box so its easy to give a quick switch to iron 1 with my left hand and if its mid tone or higher its in the pouch. You can find 10" deep silver dimes with a cz 8" coil in mild turf. It has some of the best proportional audio and killer varying pitch in autotune and pp modes. Its a fussy ******* with iron which makes it pop high tone which is a pain but you get used to it after a few seasons. I have found an incredible pile of treasures with my cz20 its so hot and deep I will never part with it.
