CW finds from DIV XXIII

Had a great time as always. I mainly was hunting for brass so not too many bullets. Three of the bullets are star based Washington Arsenal. Two of the buttons are Eagle "I" with one coat and one cuff and with gold gilt. Scabbard tip, J hook, kepi buckle, gun tools, shell frag, knapsack hook, hoof pick, nipple protector and some misc stuff I have not identified yet. Diggin in Virginia are the best hunts to go on for digging civil war relics. I can't wait for the next hunt in November.

What does DIV stand for? Thank you

Diggin in Virginia is an organized hunt that is on civil war battle sites. They are usually on sites that are off limits to metal detecting unless you are on one of these hunts. You get to keep everything you find and a lot of Confederate stuff is found. They are held once in the spring and once in the fall. You have to sign up and get selected to attend. You can google them for more pictures and stories. I highly recommend going if you like to hunt Civil War relics. DIV is the best organized hunt you can ever go on. There are others but none as good as they are.

Thanks. I'll definitely look into that. I'm in the DC area so not far away.
