You have an Eagle Button ;D ;D It is a General Service Civil War Era Eagle Button worn by the Yankee invader ;D ;) ;)

I think with that backmark it's a reproduction... post CW, modern.

Hopefully I'm wrong...

Montana Jim may be right but I do know that some of those original Eagle buttons were also stamped. the Waterbury Co. was around at that time and making buttons...hmmm

Here is a variation of the same button

Also a pic of the back...Although poorly preserved, you can see the Waterbury Co. mark

I hit an old landmark in a nearby town and found this Button.
Any info on it would be appreciated. Good hunting to all.

You are the greatest Merf! Love your finds and pictures.

That's a fine example of an Union Eagle! Oh how I'd love to dig one of those!

Oh, by the way, could you tell us a little about your avatar? It's rather unique.

Hey Merf,

Excellent find with that button...WTG! Now, I want to find out about the brooch/pin or whatever it is that has the parrot, heart and rose hanging from it, can you post just a pic of that? It's different and would like a clearer pic, if possible. Thanks!

;) RR

Thanks River Rat. I think it is costume jewelry. I will post a pic of it tomorrow.
Just relaxing and enjoying a glass of chardonay tonight.

Great button, Merf! I found this site today while looking up a button I had found. It has some button back ID info.

I use that list all the time too... it's handy! Almost has all the back marks... and quickly helps you date the buttons. Good site Nana!

Thanks Nana

Montana Jim--- Do you have another link to the website you posted.

I can not get it to work.. TIA
