Well, after a long hot summer I was finally able to return to the woods where I have recovered quite a few CW relics over the past few seasons. Some of my "Relic Buddies" from our spring 2011 hunt will know this area.
Within 5 minutes of being out there I received my first signal. It turned out to be a CW Enfield. No base mark.

Soon after that, I worked down the hill a bit and hit on a hot spot. I pulled three 3-ringers, another Enfield, and a Williams Cleaner within two hours. All six bullets were recovered within approx. a 50' radius.

My CW relics have all seemed to be found within small isolated patches in this wooded area.

The other finds for today out in the same area were asst'd lead pieces, a 1948 nickel, and a mystery piece. :dontknow:
Can't wait to get back out there.

Thanks for looking,
MM

As I told you earlier DUG, you did very well. I couldn't have done better myself (Lie)-LOL. Get back and find that plate that is hiding in there. You are overdue for another Banner.
Don't call in with a dumb question when I'm on the AD internet show Monday night PLEASE. HH, Q.

It's definitely that time of the Year to get swinging. Congrats on the finds and hope you the best in diggin in your future hunts.

Bill

Nice videos. Always love digging bullets. Keep us posted on what you find in the future. Civil War relic hunting is my passion and I love seeing RELICS. James

Quindy,
Like I told you. Just get yourself a Tesoro Silver uMax and you'll be digging some great CW relics in no time. :tongue3: :laughing9:
By the way, I forgot to post the three golf balls I found out in the woods. I'll save them for Dman.
Looking forward to your radio show next week. Is it on the old tube type radio? :dontknow:

Those Enfield's are so plain you gotta love em'!! Glad to see you back in the wood's Doug

MM- I believe your mystery item is the shank off a trap pan (steel foothold trap) . The notch is where the dog flips over the jaw, and is captured by the notch. The pan itself is gone, otherwise you'd have immediately recognized it. I doubt it's old, because the hole would have been split (rather than drilled) as it would have been crimped onto the crossframe, rather than bolted, as it appears how yours would have been attached.

Nice bunch of finds!

Same property where that cast iron eagle (your clock) came from. Lots of ground to cover, but I'm trying. :tongue3:
Nothing better than digging CW relics.

Dman,
Are they CSA plates in your leg? :tongue3: :laughing9: Man, I feel bad for you. I was telling Quindy I think that was three injuries in a year. :icon_scratch: You hitting the sauce on the side? :laughing9: :occasion14:
I hope you guys can make it over this way once you are healed again. I'll save you guys some relics.
Let me know if you need me to contact Nurse Bertha to come to you house and give you a massage. How large is your doorway? :o
