It isn't pretty or all to valuable, but the intense history behind this coin is staggering.
Just knowing that a coin found in a area known to be frequented by some of our most prominent leaders and or Foes, can be be almost overwhelming to hold. I have dug a few, but I still get excited when they come out.
The coin would have been handed to a merchant for goods or used as paying the help in the sweltering tobacco fields. To make loose change in those days, the coin was either hand cut, or cut with knife and hammer, creating your change due. I may not find a lot when I go detecting, and as a matter of fact, I dig more nails than anything. Which is alright by me. I find 1700's nails to be a lot like art. Included in my finds are, an old saddle boss, very detailed 1700's or earlier lead merchandise seal, pistol shot, buckles, buttons, and other misc. items.

Thanks for looking.

Super finds. Congrats on the silver. I am like you, I dig a lot of nails also. Sometimes those nails turn out to be something else.

Exactly "D!"

So when you a Quindy come to film Snyder detecting with Sally in the farmers field, Just before they call the state to lock him up, we should have some good finds eh?
That's too funny. I heard Sally and MM are getting hitched. I think that is bigamy, polygamy, nepotism, or rubber dollyism.

Whatever you call it, it's getting "blown" out of proportion. :occasion18: :love4:
She's a good woman, and very light on her feet. ;D
-MM-
LMAO!

Hey, the way I see it there is nothing wrong with old iron. It's history too.

Congrats on all your finds!
