Got out with my neighbor Andy and we hit a few sites in a far away county. Since it was Friday, it was tough to find the owners of the properties we've researched but eventually got a hold of one and he graciously gave us the go-ahead. This property contains a site of a 1660's banqueting hall but I had a feeling it would be hard to locate. We first hit a part of the property where the farmer told us contained a bunch of unusual stones and we ended up finding a few buttons but not much else. We finally strolled over to where I though the banqueting hall site was and started to hit iron and saw some scattered oyster shell. I first found a couple of tombac buttons then I pulled out the 1716 2 skilling danske coin. Not two feet away I scored the cut pistareen. Things slowed after that and we pulled out a few more buttons before it was time for me get home. Not sure if that was the banqueting hall site so we'll definitely be going back to scout some more. Thanks for looking.

Great hunt man :occasion14: Two colonial silvers and a pile of buttons is just awesome. Glad you found the farmer, got the permission, and he was nice enough to let you guys come back again. I can't wait to see what else you find there. A banquet hall must be loaded with all kinds of interesting stuff.

If you feel like kayaking down the Potomac, your more than happy to join me next time I'm there. [emoji12]

sweet cut pistareen!

Spanish loot from the Golden Age of Piracy!! So awesome! That cut sliver was just enough silver to pay for a tall glass of grog back in its day! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Excellent recoveries from what looks to be a great location! Congrats

The closest Potomac boat launch is about 8 minutes from my house... but its about a 100 mile paddle for me to get down to you. :laughing7: But I'm always up for a paddle!

Use one of them dang pretty outboards!

Thanks but I'd gladly trade 10 cut pieces for one GW button

I would take colonial silver over a toasted GW button any day. Most all my copper comes out toasted. Some of you guys havesome kind soil though

Very nice Relic hunt, congratulations!

Our soils around here can change drastically. I can be in one field and the soil is hard packed clay and 5 miles away the soil can sandy and easy to dig. The heavily fertilized fields are the worst on coppers and I rarely dig nice ones. I'd still take a GW over a cut silver [emoji3]

You did well, nothing like early silver. Can't wait to see what pops out next.

Me too Evan. I sure would love to join your British hammered club one day and there are some sites around there that may produce one.

Congrats on the old silver Joey! A cut pistareen is still my oldest silver

Thanks Josh. You do quite well there down there. If you ever want to make the drive up to VA just let me know and we'll see if we can get you a 1600s coin. I'm sure Bill will invite us to one of his honey holes

What the h*** is this one doing at the top again Joey?! Well for one I'm glad because it's a wicked good post!!

I'm giving myself shameless bumps like Abe

See you are a sad man like me lol. As little as I get out these days when I hit a good one I gotta enjoy it for as long as possible
