Hello everyone!

We had a surprise move last month, and we are indefinitely house-sitting a house I used to spend a lot of time at when I was younger, which just so happens to be built in 1833, and has quite a large yard. Because it is simply in my nature, I started detecting in the yard the third day we were here, and I've been out almost every day since (and that was a month ago! and i'm still finding things!)

My cousin and I lightly covered this place back in 2012. I found an entire show buckle, a silver brooch, and a copper bracelet, and he found an 1889-S Seated dime, part of a cap gun, and a couple buttons. But I knew there had to be more here. And I was right.

The totals so far are 15 wheat pennies, 2 Indian Head pennies, 1 V nickel, 1 Buffalo nickel, 1 Civil War Token, 1 King George III Halfpenny, 8 buttons, 1 whole buckle and 2 fragments, 2 dog tags, 1 lantern top, 1 silver brooch, 2 musketballs, 2 spoons and a spoon bowl, and several miscellaneous items. It's been a very exciting and fun month here!

I'm still holding out for either a large cent or silver here! I KNOW it's gotta be here! Today I found half of a buckle, a 1909 Wheat cent, and pieces from a pocketwatch, two days ago I found a V nickle, within the last week I've found 3 buttons, 5 wheat pennies, and a bunch of other stuff. Amazing that stuff is still coming out of the ground that I missed!

Thanks for looking!

-Anthony

That is so sweet, having great finds right outside your door. Keep digging!

The 81 IH is gorgeous! Show us the silver when you find it!

wow, love it all!

Great findings there, thanks for showing them !

Keep hammering that place
Awesome digs

Thanks for sharing all your finds with us. Loved the 1881 Indian Cent ,but i am not at home to see if there is a variation on that year.goldnugget

Wowzers! your back has got to be killing you...heh. Super nice, all of it.

Nice array of finds you have there. If I had a place like that I would be out there detecting at night with a miners headlamp on. :laughing7:

Nice digs . Thanks for the pics

My back is fine, as I am still young :D Been on this earth just over 17 years! And I do have a headlamp, but the finds are getting a bit sparse now :p

Well spoken/written for 17 yrs old. You seam to be wiser than your years. This is encouraging to me.
Great finds!
And just a tip, (if you haven't already tried?) move across yard in a diagonal pattern instead of the usual parallel to house, fence, road etc. this might help you pull out even more.
Good luck Sir!

Judging by the finds something was going on there earlier than 1833. The 18th century shoe buckle is a nice find!

That 1881 IH looks almost perfect. Lots of great detail.

Really nice.
