What a find I don't even have words for this one and all three hooks are still intact!!! MAYBE THIS ONE will get me on the BANNER!!

Seeing as how the Army of Tennessee marched thru my back yard is there any kinda story to this find or was it just laying on top of the ground or kicked out by a bull dozer?

Now I just have to find another one

Congrats on a Banner find for sure. Very nice piece of history! Relic hunters dream come true. jgas

Guess we will never know .. :dontknow:

No it was dug from a cellar excavation

What a beauty! This has been my huckleberry since I began CW relic hunting in the Murfreesboro area during the early 1970's; and of course, since then. I began digging around Perryville while on vacations in the early 1980's. The owner of the largest collection of Perryville relics, who had found similar buckles, took me on a tour in 1981 and showed me the location of every camp before and after the battle. He and I hunted at Perryville and I photographed him for a magazine article, which I never published. My finds were frags and canister shot-lead and iron. Regarding these camps, not being from the area, I was totally lost and could not find my way back to any of them--wish I had a map with me to mark the locations. I returned later and hunted a farmers high property along the entrance into the park finding pieces of sabot and frags. It is my understanding that farm has since been acquired by the park.

I don't know much about perryville other than there's nothing left to hunt

Congratulations on an outstanding example of that particular plate and a hard one to come by in any example, BANNER NO QUESTIONS
