Dude!
Don't "overthink" your creativity!
Play your best original.
Got it taped?
Good!
NOW work on what you think are improvements.
Most times when I've done this, the first cut is the best.....
"Written by Cat Stevens in 1967, covered by many, my favorite is Bryan Adams, but here's Rod...."
One more Tommy, doing a Mason Williams song....
My Best,
Scott
My Fav? Rod Stewart version.
Hey...remember Boston's first album? Perfection...
My blues album will be done first. I can record an entire album, on my computer studio. I do all the guitars and bass, virtual drums and keyboard. I have a friend help with the lyrics. I DO NOT sing, or even attempt to... But another friend has an actual recording studio, ( I met him when I built it for him..was an acoustic structural..you want what?..nightmare) he recommends set up, jam...record!
I'am also working on a Dokken, Great White, Ratt, Motley Crue, Y&T, Kiss, Zeppelin kinda thing...
I have to keep it fun.
LOUD!!!!!
One of the reasons I have to go back and change things is that one of the songs sounded SO CLOSE to this...(below)as a friend pointed out...that if I released it I would get sued for plagiarism. Having thousands of albums, I believe that there are a lot of songs imprinted in my memory!
