CRISPINS CRITTERS

Dude!

Don't "overthink" your creativity!

Play your best original.
Got it taped?
Good!

NOW work on what you think are improvements.

Most times when I've done this, the first cut is the best.....

"Written by Cat Stevens in 1967, covered by many, my favorite is Bryan Adams, but here's Rod...."

One more Tommy, doing a Mason Williams song....

My Best,

Scott

My Fav? Rod Stewart version.
Hey...remember Boston's first album? :icon_thumright: Perfection...
My blues album will be done first. I can record an entire album, on my computer studio. I do all the guitars and bass, virtual drums and keyboard. I have a friend help with the lyrics. I DO NOT sing, or even attempt to...:laughing7: But another friend has an actual recording studio, ( I met him when I built it for him..was an acoustic structural..you want what?..nightmare) :laughing7:he recommends set up, jam...record!
I'am also working on a Dokken, Great White, Ratt, Motley Crue, Y&T, Kiss, Zeppelin kinda thing...:laughing7:

I have to keep it fun.
LOUD!!!!!

One of the reasons I have to go back and change things is that one of the songs sounded SO CLOSE to this...(below)as a friend pointed out...that if I released it I would get sued for plagiarism. Having thousands of albums, I believe that there are a lot of songs imprinted in my memory!

Wind breaks are gettin torn out. Fields tilled into the next field. Irrigation fights.
Goin corporate. Still.

carecrow on a wooden cross Blackbird in the barn
Four hundred empty acres that used to be my farm
I grew up like my daddy did My grandpa cleared this land
When I was five I walked the fence while grandpa held my hand

Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry there's no legacy for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow

The crops we grew last summer weren't enough to pay the loans
Couldn't buy the seed to plant this spring and the
Farmers Bank foreclosed
Called my old friend Schepman up to auction off the land
He said John it's just my job and I hope you understand
Hey calling it your job ol' hoss sure don't make it right
But if you want me to I'll say a prayer for your soul tonight
And grandma's on the front porch swing with a Bible in her hand
Sometimes I hear her singing "Take me to the Promised Land"
When you take away a man's dignity he can't
Work his fields and cows

There'll be blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Blood on the scarecrow Blood on the plow

Well there's ninety-seven crosses planted in the courthouse yard
Ninety-seven families who lost ninety-seven farms
I think about my grandpa and my neighbors and my name
And some nights I feel like dyin' Like that scarecrow in the rain

Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry they're just memories for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow

Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
This land fed a nation This land made me proud
And Son I'm just sorry they're just memories for you now
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow
Rain on the scarecrow Blood on the plow

Sounds like "kite-flyin'" conditions using a small car as the kite. What to use for the tail? Weight balance is important.
I used to have kite wars with the neighbor kids as a lad. I was accused of cheating by rubbing the leading string in pine sap and coating it with crushed glass. I'd cut opponents string with my "modification."
Cheating....Sheesh...Me?
Show me a rule written....

And the winds,
Of my Memories,
Cry....

Thanks, RC for the journey....way back....

Best,

Scott

How do you click on "Hell, Yes!" Like?

Dude, where are you? Up North, cold, I suppose....

I'd like to play for an hour or so with you! On Tape!

Maybe one or two numbers.....

What you say?

You may drive around the town
In a brand new shiny car
Your face in the wind and your haircut's in
And your friends think you're bizarre

You may find a cushy job and I hope that you go far
But if you really want to taste some cool success
You better learn to play guitar

Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah
Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah

You got your eyes on the cheerleader queen
You're walkin' her home from school
You know that she's only seventeen
But you know she's gonna make you a fool

You know you can't touch that stuff
Without money or a brand new car
Let me give you some good advice, young man
You better learn to play guitar

Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah
Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah

All women around the world want a phony rock star
Who plays guitar

You can pump your iron and shine your shoes
And wear your hair just right
You go down out on cruisin' street
'Cause you want to score tonight

[ra da ra da ra da da]
And you really want to show your scars
Forget all about that macho ****
And learn how to play guitar

Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Play guitar, play guitar
Play guitar, oh yeah

Thank you, RC!

Somehow you always seem to have your finger on the pulse of the current discussion on this thread.
That's quite a chore!

And, you add the words....

"I see fine things coming your way.
Stay true to yourself and stay true to the Family.
The Critter Family, Capisce?"

My Friend, who owns a "Wine and Cheese Shop," called me today and asked about servicing the ignition of his Ford Focus.
Sounds like a complete replacement. Keying it up to the factory specs.
Yeah. I got ya, Guy!
S'posed to do it this weekend.

I must get the ignition to turn, ONE MORE TIME to depress the active retainer and release the ignition cylinder or else I'll have to drill to the side bar....
Non-drill=about $85.
Drill=$100.
Prices above include the complete job with 2 factory spec keys and lube of all locks.

I can usually get one more turn on ignitions about 85%-95% of the time....

Probably work out the cost in, what?

Wine and cheese?

Absolutely!

Old school. Sure we can jam....My very part time band did a cover of "long way to love" I told the bass player...gallop! He says...do what what? Gallop!! He starts pretending he is a horse Galloping all around the room!! ALL of (except him) fell down laughing! I believe I spit scotch EVERYWHERE!!.
I explained, said..listen to the bass player in the song..he is Galloping! AH-HAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

My bro with the studio has analog equipment, he rents out the studio, and quite a few musicians like it.
Those artists love vinyl also...so I try to learn whats up also.
The digital is faster and a little easier. Boston? I believe all analog.

But it's kinda 'catchy.' Erotic videos ....when?"

"Imagine, if you will, a Veteran, returning home, after war.
What will they face? How will they find peace.
Among their Family, Friends and townsfolk?
How can they return to normal,
After living, In the Twilight Zone?
Their stop is just ahead...Beyond the Twilight Zone."

I will provide answers, compassion and hope!
That's why I'm in College at 56 years old. Dig? :headbang:
