Haha! You all are cracking me up. Me? No Sports Illustrated, but this guy was on the cover a few times. His name is Bob "Thunder" Thurman. He gave up his title(s) and everything he had to devote his life to inspiring/empowering as many people as he could, after a tragic incident.

Rewind, 20+ years back.

He was in the gym working out with a few buddies, when he heard a few 'pops' out on the street. They ran outside, and there already was a woman who was face down, covered in blood. He was there to see them roll her over. It was his wife; Betsy.

She was hit in the head. Thankfully, she lived to tell her/their story.

I was excited to work with him, and although, no Zena am I, I did take him down! Yi, yi, yi!!! :)

looks like yuppieville to me

you TOOK him to the floor? who would resist?? ( have you seen yourself?)

Mastiff,
Reminds me of a story years ago.
About a college town. (Lawrence, Kansas University)
A college bar.
And, the one night I saved a life.

Wanna hear it?
It's kinda long.....
And I DO have some studyin' I should be doin'.....
But y'all know that I LOVE to tell my stories.....

Best,

Scott

Shut the book, and SHARE. Now, you don't want me to get mad now, would you? Haha.

OK.
By request....
(Thought you'd never ask.....)

From about mid-late 80's or so.....

Lawrence, Kansas. Kansas University. Before I attended.....

It was an early summer evening and a couple of Friends and I decided to go to a "College Bar" and watch the "Newbies." (Kids on their own for the first time....)

Since my Friends and I were "Locals," we found great amusement in this.
I do not remember what the Bar's name was at the time;
Owners and bar name's changes occur almost every Semester....

Well, about 9:00, after a couple of pitchers shared,
I sensed and heard a commotion by the front door.
As a Military Police Veteran,
I'm always aware of my surroundings and immediately headed in that direction.

Seems that the bouncers, whom I knew.....
Had directed the confrontation outside.

I didn't have time to ask questions.
I rushed outside to the parking lot to see about 6 "Biker" type guys surrounding one individual.

I later learned that he was of some type of Eastern Indian heritage and had made some trivial inappropriate comment to one of the leather freak's "wimmin."
Something must have been lost in translation.....

Just as I made my way to the "Fracas,"
One of the leather dudes "cold-cocked" Indian dude.

He fell like a sack of potatoes.

About that time,
Police sirens sounded out close by and the leather dudes got on their bikes and split.

I rushed over to the fallen Indian dude and he was knocked the slap out!

On his back, his tongue was obstructing his airway.
He was not breathing and turning blue....

I immediately cleared his airway and administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
Soon, the Police arrived and the ambulance.
The Paramedics rushed over to begin their treatment,
And,
I slowly stood up,

And disappeared into the crowd.....

Best Wishes,

Scott

My sincere thanks to all who have followed my academic pursuits and replied with positive messages either here or on my "Personal Page."

Your encouragement has sustained my belief in my goal!

The road is long, the work is hard,
But with Y'all's support, my Dream will become a reality!

I choose to give of myself for my Veteran Brothers and Sisters.
This is the "Life-Path" I have chosen for my next 50+ years!

My Thanks to Y'all!

The Best of Wishes,

And now, as we enter Scott's Zone of "What in the hell?"

I present this, for your consideration....

rod2.webp

"If you had opportunity to better mankind's position,
At personal sacrifice, Would you agree?
Or just be lost, like most,
Somewhere in the Twilight Zone?"

My Best,

Scott

Yeah, I know.
Some of my posts are beyond most Folk's understanding.....
Due to Military experiences....

Perhaps I should be silenced.....

Yeah. Just try your luck, kid.....

Reminds me of the story of when I was shot.....
A story that may never be told.....

(Spoiler: I lived.)

Where is my Friend RC, Squiggy and Oregon?

Has anyone here seen my old Friends?

You are always in my thoughts....

Always,

Scott

"I Destroy my enemies when I make them my Friends...."
A. Lincoln.
----
I once sold an orginal signature of Lincoln on a land grant deed for a soldier who was wounded in the civil war.

I wish that I still had the document instead of the profit of sale.....
Several years ago, and shall we say how many thousands of dollars?
(A private sale.....)

(Bought for $1 at an estate sale in a box of old letters that I saw a stamp or two that I wanted....)
I have a picture, fortunately, around here somewhere......

Also in the box of letters was a document signed by James Monroe.
That fetched me some BIG money.
Again, I wish that I still had them.

Best Dollar I ever spent.....

Give me a day or two and I'll find, photograph and post the photos.....

We send you many virtual flowers and big wish for a very speedy recovery!!!

Ouch, argh,#%^*, and major bummer! Good thing is you are quite the trooper!!!

There you are. Thank you so much my friend. I'm told not to put weight on my leg but when have I ever listened? This warrior is already doing his own physical therapy. Can't keep me off my feet much longer. Ms Mastiff I love the flowers glad to see you back on the forum. You were missed your quick time away. Oh and did I say thank you for being my friend? Insert smile. I feel stronger already. Can't keep this warrior down for long. I'm just cold, wet and sandy for the time being. That's a quote from my friend David Rutherford. Google him, he's worth listening too, and a fellow warrior. Thanks again Ms Mastiff :)

2GF,

Here's a tune to cheer you up....kind of fitting me thinks.

David Gilmour + David Bowie = Comfortably numb.

2GF,

Hang in there, Brother!

You have earned a little bit of "slow-down" pace....
Milk it, milk it as much as you can until someone figures out that's what you're doin'....:laughing7:

Sometimes I long for that pace, but, probably you, just as I, would find that acceptable for maybe, what? A day? Two at the most?

Take it slow, Brother;
Take a "Slow Ride!"

Always in my thoughts....

Best of Wishes,

Scott

Now, for something completely "out there,"
What if you were to film bats hanging in a cave, flipped the video 180 degrees and added music?

barris.webp

"Looks like we have a winner for tonight."

It's WAY too early to be in Scott's "What the Hell?" zone......

My Best,
(Hope the video made you smile....)
