CRISPINS CRITTERS

A bit of Vintage levity that somehow rings true still today....

Enjoy!

2GF,

Yep Tim Hortons is the coffee spot of choice for lots of Canucks.

Bill

I remember in OEF the Canadian soldiers would get in a mile long line for some place called Tim Hortons?

Calling for more snow here tomorrow, one of the reasons why I chose to buy the AT PRO.

These pictures are from 2 weekends ago.

Chris,

I've been waiting for my health to improve,
and now that I have more time and fall is in the air of the North Georgia Mountains,
near the start of the Appalachian Trail, with the leaves jumping from the trees at the
slightest of breeze and a freshness of the air that fills your
lungs awakening on a crisp morning of camping that....
I can smell the coffee now!

Yeah, I'm due for some time in my mountains!
(For at least 4-5 nights...)

Seems some bears were seen last month not far from where I live. Maybe 5-6 miles....

Hall County residents concerned about 3 bears perched in tree

Then, earlier this week, another was sighted near a school close to the earlier sighting.

I bet it's 'cause the acorn crop was bad this year 'cause of so much rain this summer
and they are hungry and looking for food to fatten themselves up for the winter.
I wonder how the blackberry crop was?
I know where the blackberry patches are on the mountains.
I'd bet the chances of seeing a bear this year are pretty good.
As an incentive, I've got deer antlers to rattle....

Will I shoot?

Only if my camera is ready!

Best,

Scott

Chris,

and now that I have more time...

Please allow me to explain myself.

I do not mean that I can somehow magically grant myself "more time" than what we all experience.
What I mean is that I've found more time FOR ME.

I've found out that it's an unhappy life one spends without due compensation to self.
Indulge your hobbies, your collections, your ideas, passions and dreams.
But, never deny yourself of earned rewards.

For me, I like to spend the money and get a LARGE 3 Musketeers Candy bar!
Sheesh.
I remember nickel candy bars.
And gimme a Coke and let's burn this dime....

Best,

Scott

An early heads up to my Veteran and Active Duty Brothers and Sisters that
Monday is Veterans Day. As we mourn the loss of Friends who stepped up to the line and said,
"Yes, I love my Country. I will die to defend Her,"
we must always remember that we defend(ed) the People of the Greatest Nation in the World!

And we must always remember that the people are grateful and in debt.
They support and Pray for our safety and well being.

Several Retailers have Special discounts and Promotions for our Military.
Two that I can attest to are Applebee's and Golden Corral.
I have supported these two with my patronage even though I really don't care to "eat out."

Veterans Day to me isn't just a day...it's EVERY day.
Why?
Because every day I thank as many Veterans for their service as I can.
Most of them, I can tell that they are Vets.
Some, well, I steer the conversation and gain trust...

And now, I want to thank all Vets for their service!

The Bears around here are asleep. Scott, I was thinking about you and your Mountains earlier mid Thursday....

Breaking News! I'm off to the woods with a 6 pack of beer and a 20 pack of fresh batteries, back at ya Sunday night.

JACKYL!!!! :laughing7: The best and worst tune of all time, they're no Twisted Sister that's for sure. :notworthy:

Folks,

When the missus swung around to Costco today she picked me a little gift....a mixed selection of Irish brew.

I'll probably have a couple tomorrow night and raise a glass to the crew.

A bit of humor at my expense.....I also ordered a couple of cook books for the missus on making crepes....those are the skiny French pancakes that you stuff with either fruit or main course items with various sauces, etc.....

I bought her the fancy pan last year and forgot to include a recipe book....lol.

mmmmmmmmmm Smithwicks, but my mostes favorite of all time ever and ever---

KILKENNY! I can't find it down south anywhere.

G.I.B.,

Yeah Kilkenny's is pretty special.....a red beer with the creamy head similar to Guinness.

Maybe I've turned into a bit of a beer snob.....but the premium beers are a quite a few notches up from the mass produced stuff generally available in North America.

I lived in Macedonia for a few years and Kilkenny (drought) was my summer beverage of choice, Guiness was during the winter months, kept me warm and toasty.

Note: for the bottle baby in me it was CKOIICKO brewed at the local Cocoa-Cola plant.

The bartender used to make a smiley face on the head with more magic suds of happiness… what a great time!

Hey Jeff,

Are you by chance related to Barbara Gordon AKA Batgirl?

I'm seeing something of a family resemblance there...

I still remember six candy bars for a quarter

G.I.B.,

I'm pretty sure if you snoop around on the net you should be able to find a couple of US dealers who handle and ship
imported beers.
