It can discriminate out iron pretty well. Less digging trash.

The thing is the Excalibur sells for about 1500 verses 600 for the Sand Shark...

I haven't used one but the ability to discriminate is high priority on a trashy beach. Is it worth the extra 900? Well that's up to you. I am struggling with that myself. The Sand Shark has a lifetime guarantee though. This alone makes it very attractive to me.
