Folks,

Since it's the weekend and all here's a good tune for my Southern cousins by a Canadian band with a token American thrown in for good measure......something about this rendition just tugs at the heartstrings no matter which country you're from or North or South US....enough rambling enjoy..

The reason that this is my favorite song by The Band is because it reminds me of a girl I once loved,
but I guess it wasn't meant to be.....
Her name was Carol and my Mom introduced us....

We had many good times together, but the other times, well, they were bad.

She could drink me or any sailor under the table with vodka, but I got her to quit drinking.
So heavily....


I left her one morning, when she refused to stop eating heavy-duty pain killers, after fair warning,
and I found out less than a year later that she died from OD'ing......
