CRISPINS CRITTERS

Visited my dad yesterday.
I try to weekly.
Dug on a trench and worked on a lawn tractor. Then lunch.
He is going to do another three months rehab but is gaining.
Gets checked frequently for blood thickness and pacemaker function.

Thanks all who encouraged us when he was in surgery.

Always in my thoughts,

Scott

PS.
RIP Billy....

A song from long ago that means a lot to so many others....

Scott, my dad is still alive. However we don't speak and haven't for about three years. It's a long story, but my mother has forbid him from contact with me as she has disowned my son and I. Yup, she authentically hates me...

Sent from a spun out toilet paper tube (one ply)!

But, how do YOU feel about your Father?

Not tryin' to stir any shi...huh?

Just saying,

Perhaps a reconciliation?

Best,

Scott

PS.

What do you know of him? A Vet? Were you close?

Scott, I leave well enough alone. My mother is abusive and makes his life miserable...especially if he talks to me. He used to call me every once in a while from places like Lowes when she wasn't around him but he finally stopped calling. I have an idea he got caught doing this. His life is miserable enough without me adding any more to it. He's in his seventies and in not the best of health, I have an idea this will end as it is right now.
Nah, he's not a vet...

And now,

Because it is Saturday night again,

I'll bark at the moon!
(In the woods somewhere....)

Spent the day on a day hike in the mountains of several miles and got thoroughly soaked in the rain showers of the day.
Thunder in the distance but no lightning....

Mountains are funny like that sometimes....
I had no compass or map with me. Only my innate sense of direction.....

I began the trip with some rope, a pocketknife, a canteen of water and a coupla sandwiches.

MY GOD!
Have I "Run away from home?"

A "Recon" mission?

Perhaps.

For a later journey and adventure!

Huddled under the most promising canopy of rain protection,
I knew that the trip was worthwhile....

Best,

Scott

During the rain, I saw an alien mushroom!
"Alien Mushroom. Yeah, right. What's Scott smoking'?"

(That statement would not be credible without photographic proof. Here's proof.)

Yeah.
Really! The Spores are here!

Well, I'm goin' down, goin down a hard road
Just don't know, don't know where I've been
But I think I've been a-walkin', I'm a-walkin' 'round in circles
Can't even find a friend

Woah, my love, my love, she is not waiting
Think I might've been gone, I've been gone too long
Look at the people, people make me crazy
I can hardly sing my song

Hustlers stand around me, I'm lost and all alone
Can't tell the bad from the good
I'm out in the wood then I'm lost in the wood

Big city gamblers, gamblers take my money
Yes, it gets to be useless, yes, it's useless to me
And I think I'm lost, when I'm lost inside this jungle
Can't see the forest for the trees

Well, pretty little woman come and get me
Try me, try me one more time
Yes and your sweet, your sweet understanding
Can't fix this broken heart of mine, yeah

The vultures fly around me, come and take me home
Can't tell the bad from the good
I'm out in the woods, then I'm lost in the woods

I've been rained upon a few times in my life,

But tomorrow is always a sunny day!

My Best Wishes Always....

"Ready For The Rain"

Early in the morning, before the daylight
I hear the sound of thunder, comin' through in the night
I lie awake and I wonder , where my life is goin'
Am I on a road leadin' nowhere, there's no way of knowin'
'Cause I've seen the lightning
And I'm ready for the rain to fall

Now I'm standin' on a mountain, lookin' into the sky
I see the clouds come rollin' in, water fills my eyes
I don't know what's in the future, no one can say
Don't wanna think about the past, I've gotta live for today
'Cause I've seen the lightnin' now
I need to find my own way, while I've still got time

And I'm ready for the rain to fall
'Cause I've heard the thunder
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
I'm ready, ready for the rain
I've got to rise above it all
And get ready for the rain to fall

Did you ever know someone, who had lost their way
Built their own little kingdom, and just blew it all away
I'm not ashamed to admit it, that someone was me
I'm gonna look to the future now, 'cause I've set myself free
And I've seen the lightnin'
I'm gonna set myself free, while I've still got time

Get ready for the rain to fall
'Cause I've heard the thunder
And I'm ready for the rain to fall
I'm ready, ready for the rain
I've got to rise above it all
And get ready for the rain to fall, while I've still got time....
[Repeat chorus]

Then might I suggest a trip to a "nursing home."

Find a feisty old man giving opinion on any subject.
Humor him as if he were your father.
Give this lonely man his day, won't you?

It may well be you or I one day.....

Always,

My Best Wishes,

Scott

Perhaps an allegory somewhere about here? :icon_scratch:

Fowledup so sorry about the accident buddy. I understand. My son had a Durango once. Worst vehicle we've ever owned. Looked good.......sold it for scrap. Good luck on the search for that new one. Scott my real dad has been dead since 1999. The last time I saw him was in 1987 when he put a .357 magnum to my forehead........no I didn't attend his funeral. Better for everyone that way. My mother and father divorced in 1979 after I left home. I asked " what took you so long?" But I wasn't living with them at that time. They would both remarry others. I have a decent relationship with my stepdad, but I have walls you know? Better to stay away for me buddy........

Hmm, this song just seemed appropriate tonight...
